What is the weight limit?
Our weight limit is 250 lbs, and you must be an appropriate height/weight ratio. If you are unsure, please contact us. There is an extra fee for anything over 200 lbs. Roughly $1/lb over 200 lbs.
Can I skydive with a physical disability?
Often, yes. If you would like to skydive but aren’t sure if you can - please call or email us. We have experience taking tandem students with differing disabilities such as paraplegia, paralysis, and TBIs. Skydiving is something we want to share with as many people as possible. If we can get you in the air, we will!
When should I show up?
Your reservation time is your arrival time. If you book an 11am appointment, please arrive at 11am. We will begin everything at your reservation time. Showing up early does not ensure an earlier jump.
How long does it take?
Expect to be at Skydive Utah for at least 4 hours. It may be quicker, but please allow plenty of time in your schedule to complete the entire process.
Do I need to make a reservation?
We strongly recommend that you make a reservation to ensure your spot. Walk-ins are accepted based on availability.
Can I get a refund on my deposit?
If you cancel or reschedule with more than 48 hours notice, your $75 deposit will be refunded, or moved to your new reservation. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours notice, you will lose your $75 deposit.
Can I bring my own GoPro?
For safety reasons, you are not allowed to wear or control a camera on your tandem jump. We offer photo and video options that can do this in a safe way.
What is the landing like?
Modern parachutes are very controllable. Most landings are a soft slide in on the grass like going down a slide. If there is a headwind, you can often softly land on your feet like stepping off a curb.
What if there is bad weather?
If you have a reservation, we do our best to notify you at least 2 hours before via text. Sometimes in Utah, the weather can turn quickly, and we may have to shut down suddenly during the day. In either case, we will send a text notification and work with you to reschedule.
How long does the skydive last?
We jump from 12,000ft above the ground (16,300ft above sea level), which gives you about 50 seconds of free fall. You usually open your parachute around 5,000ft and fly the canopy down for about 5 minutes.
How many people fit in your plane?
15 jumpers.
Can I wear my glasses?
If you have contacts, it is best to wear them instead of your glasses. If you only have glasses, and your vision is acceptable without them, we recommend you leave them behind for the jump. The goggles fit better without, and you won't risk losing your glasses. If you need your glasses to see and prefer to wear them, we do have special goggles that can go over them.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that will fit under a harness (no skirts or dresses). Keep in mind it will be about 40 degrees colder at jump altitude than on the ground, so bring extra layers if it is a cooler day. Shorts and a t-shirt are fine on a hot summer day. Make sure you have closed-toed shoes with no hooks. No sandals.
Where are you located?
We are about 30 minutes west of Downtown Salt Lake City, about 1 hour from Park City, Provo, and Ogden. Skydive Utah is the closest skydiving to Salt Lake City. Our address is 4647 North Airport Road, Erda UT 84074.
Can I take an Uber to Skydive Utah?
We do not recommend it. It is easy to find Uber/Lyft rides to Skydive Utah, but getting an Uber/Lyft back to Salt Lake is unreliable.
